An evening full of music: Choir concert by the MGVfrau enthuses Knittelfeld
The MGVfrau Knittelfeld recently invited to his highly expected choir concert "worldwide Daham 5", which attracted numerous attracts the music lovers in the region. On this special occasion, not only the members of their own combo were deployed, but also the youth choir St. Marein-Feisstritz, which caused a varied musical performance.
The event, which took place in the Kulturhaus Knittelfeld, was opened in front of a fully occupied hall. The moderator, Mag. Andy, welcomed the representatives of the municipality of Knittelfeld, especially Vice Mayor Ing. Gerald Knauseder and cultural officer Gr Mag. The overall musical management took over the choir director Walter Bischof, who enchanted the audience with a colorful program.
A musical fireworks
The musical journey began atmospheric with the catchy hit "Music, Music, Music". Further pieces followed, including the hymn "I praise myself the wine" and the passionate Brazilian Habanera "in the sky, the stars sparkle". It was particularly noteworthy that the choir presented everything "from a single source" this year, which made the demonstration even more impressive.
The combo, consisting of talented musicians such as Jan Åkerman on saxophone and flute as well as Walter Bishop of guitar and accordion, created a good atmosphere with their riding rhythms. A highlight was the performance of the classic "Isle of Capri", which is world famous thanks to artists such as Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby. Elvis Presley fans also got their money's worth at the hit "Can’t Help Falling in Love", which Bishop interpreted as a soloist.
When the St. Maryin-Feisstritz youth choir entered the stage, the program became even younger. Under the direction of Alexandra Schneidler, the young singers performed one direction “If I Could Fly” by One Direction. The soulful medley of "Let It Be" in particular captivated the audience.
The variety of musical performances
After a break, the MGVfrau combo remained on the audience's pulse by conjuring Latin flair with "Sail Along Silvry Moon" and the spirited "Tico-Toco No Fubá". The performance of "Beautiful Isabella from Castile" also proved that humor and music harmonize well with each other.
The musical range also included a cheerful piece about autumn, while "The mill in the valley" rattled loudly. The Austropop classic "Gö du Mågst Mi", performed by Walter Bischof, had the fans cheer again. The further hits from ABBA and the Beatles followed, who put the audience in a party mood.
Something very special was the adaptation of a lyrics to the 800th anniversary of the city of Knittelfeld, which conveyed a feeling of tradition and community with the melody of the "Berlin Melody". A grand finale took place with the joint performance of the youth choir and the MGVfrau as well as the combo with "Dancing Queen" from ABBA, which crowned the evening with thunderous applause.
At the end of the concert, the Kulturhaus team and the municipality of Knittelfeld received great thanks for their support, which made it possible for the MGVfrau to set up such an impressive event. There was already an invitation to the next festive event for visitors: the Christmas concert, which will take place on December 22, 2024 in the Knittelfeld cemetery church.
