Career Experience Day: Discover talent and career opportunities in the Freistadt district

A new campaign is starting in the Freistadt district to present the region as an attractive employer. The aim of this initiative is to inform both students and employees about the numerous opportunities on site and thus reduce migration to the central areas. Prominent voices from business, such as Rudolf Ortner from Ortner-Holz GmbH, underline the high quality of the work and the employers on site.

How important it is for regional employers to be more present becomes clear when you look at the numbers. Over 17,000 employees commute to neighboring regions, while the economy in the Freistadt district has over 11,000 employees. This is where the Freistadt Chamber of Commerce comes in: with a relaunch of its platform meinjob-freistadt.at, regional companies are to be given more visibility.

Recruitment strategies

The revamped approach relies on advertising efforts spanning multiple media, including billboards, print ads and social media. Attractively formulated slogans are intended to appeal to the target groups: “Discover cool jobs and apprenticeships in the district” or “There’s big money in the district” are the focus. Thomas Denk, future head of the Chamber of Commerce, explains that young employees and commuters should be kept in the district in order to ensure that local companies have access to skilled workers.

Smaller and medium-sized companies in particular can score points through their value-oriented orientation and personal appreciation. Rudolf Ortner emphasizes that the employees in these companies are not anonymous numbers, but rather experience real appreciation. Another incentive to stay in the region is the proximity to many of the family-run businesses, which only require a short commute.

stability of the region

Another point that speaks for the attractiveness of the district is its economic stability. Christian Naderer, the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, points to the positive development over the last 15 years: the number of employers rose from 900 to almost 1,100, and local tax revenue has doubled during this period. These figures show that the economic conditions in the Freistadt district remain stable even in difficult times.

In order to further promote the interest of young people, the career experience day will take place on Friday, November 15th, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Freistadt exhibition halls. Young people and their parents have the opportunity to find out about training and career opportunities in the region. Over 58 employers as well as schools and advice centers are represented, and the organizers are expecting a large number of visitors.

The employer visibility initiative will both strengthen the local economy and support the younger generation to make the right decisions for their future. More information about the different professions and training courses is a valuable opportunity for anyone interested to shape their own career path.
