Technicus Award 2025: Young talents show the future of AI!
Mössingerstraße, 9020 Klagenfurt, Österreich - On June 26, 2025, this year's Technicus Award took place on HTL Mössingerstrasse in Klagenfurt. Under the topic "Momentum - KI: Exploring The Future!" was offered a platform to present the innovative strength of young talents. The event was organized by the Association of Graduates under the direction of Burkhard Grabner. Director Hubert Lutnik opened the competition with an opening speech in which he praised the innovative ability of the participants and focused on the future technologies.
A total of 13 projects by students from various grades were presented, all of which were related to artificial intelligence. The jury, consisting of HTL graduates Christian Smerietschmig from Bigbang and Alexander Windbichler, CEO of Anexia, was thrilled with the creative implementation and technology. The projects ranged from AI-supported crossword puzzles to smart life helpers to quantum-supported machine learning models.
use of AI in the education sector
A central topic of the event was the use of AI in the education sector. The participants agreed that artificial intelligence should not replace human access, the educational flair and social interaction. Burkhard Grabner emphasized that technology in education must always be associated with attitude, reflection and responsibility to ensure a positive impact on school and teaching culture. The Technicus Award pursues the goal of making technology tangible and encouraging young people to implement their own ideas.
The meaning of AI in education is increasingly recognized. According to the latest developments, artificial intelligence is seen as possible makers in order to make learning processes more individual. It has the potential to relieve teachers by automating routine tasks and thus giving them more time for interactive lessons and individual feedback. Nevertheless, it is important to emphasize that AI cannot replace personal contact between teachers and learners, as described in an article from the Federal Center for Political Education. This says that the teachers have to remain central in the educational process in order not to endanger critical thinking and creativity.
Technicus Award: A key to school education
The Technicus Award goes beyond simple competition. It promotes the project work and the technical interest of the students beyond the curriculum and thus has a far -reaching influence on the lessons. It shows how practical and socially relevant technical training is realized on HTL Mössingerstrasse. The innovative projects from this competition also impressively demonstrate the potential of AI in the field of education, and can influence future learning methods and experiences.
pupils and teachers are aware of the challenges of AI use in the education sector, including the risks of dependency and the protection of quality and neutrality. It remains to be clarified how progress in the field of artificial intelligence can be promoted in international comparison without neglecting the human aspect of learning. Many questions have to be clarified from teaching teachers to access to technologies in order to go to the future.
The event of the Technicus Awards shows that the connection between technology and education is not only necessary, but also promising. The development of innovative ideas by young people could be the key to a positive revolution in the field of education.
