Ski star Guglielmo Bosca back in life: Father joy and comeback plans!

The Italian ski racer Guglielmo Bosca is back after a serious injury and at the same time has reason to be happy. In December 2024, he suffered a broken fibula during a training session in Beaver Creek, which ended his World Cup season prematurely. A comeback at the World Cup in Saalbach in February 2025 was not possible due to the severity of the injury. But Bosca has now taken on a new role in the meantime: for the first time, he has become a father, which he proudly announced on Instagram. In his post, he explained laconically: "I had disappeared for a few months ... I was a bit busy".

The feedback to the news was consistently positive, and he received numerous congratulations from the winter sports family. On Instagram, Bosca shared photos showing his intimate time with his newborn daughter, while the background is decorated in warm, earthy tones. Among the well-wishers was the Italian biathlete Lisa Vittozzi, who wished him good luck in the new phase of his life.

A comeback in professional sports

Although Bosca is currently focusing on his family, he is also working on his comeback to professional sports. He had hoped to take part in the World Cup, but he is determined to fully rehabilitate himself to be fit for the 2026 Olympics. It will be interesting to see how he fares in the coming months and whether he returns in time for the Olympic competition.

In the world of skiing, Bosca isn't the only athlete struggling with injuries. Sebastian Holzmann, a German ski racer, also suffered a major setback in December 2024 when he tore his cruciate ligament. Holzmann described his injury as a “nightmare come true” but is also facing a return to competition. Despite the challenges, Holzmann remains motivated and documents his rehabilitation process intensively on Instagram, where he has a considerable community with over 12,000 followers.

Holzmann's career, which began in 2010 in the FIS racing circus, is characterized by successes, such as two German championship titles and a team bronze medal at the 2014 junior World Cup. His fifth place at the 2023 World Cup in Courchevel was particularly surprising, since he had not previously reached a top ten placement in the World Cup. It is optimistic and cannot be discouraged by the rehab. His rehabilitation coach propagates the slogan: "Move Smarter. Get Stronger. Live Better."

During this time of return and the new beginning, it remains to be seen whether both Bosca and Holzmann can achieve their goals and return to the slopes to celebrate new successes in international skiing.
