In a dramatic incident in Wels, a 53-year-old cyclist fell into the Traun on March 2, 2025 after colliding with a pedestrian. At around 1:30 p.m. the man was on the sidewalk on the Traunuferstrasse to the east when he collided with a 28-year-old passerby. In doing so, he lost his balance and fell together with his bike into the river, how ORF reported.
Quick action was asked: the pedestrian jumped into the cold floods, supported by other passers -by who helped to bring the accident cyclist to the shore as quickly as possible. Thanks to this brave action, the man was quickly recovered, but he suffered injuries to his right hand and his left thigh.
