Corruption and allotment affair: Nevrivy in the court's sights!

The SPÖ district leader Ernst Nevrivy faces serious allegations and must appear in court soon. During a construction site tour in the so-called “Sunken City” in the 22nd district, the politician hides behind a facade of composure, but concerns about his legal problems do not seem to be small. Nevrivy, otherwise humorous and eloquent, remains silent when asked about the serious allegations against him. He sticks to the sentence: "I am convinced that I have done nothing wrong. The independent courts will clarify everything else," and rules out resignation. Nevertheless, it becomes clear that he is up to his neck in water, how krone.at reports.

The Economic and Corruption Public Prosecutor's Office (WKStA) has made numerous serious allegations against Nevrivy, including passing on confidential information to a real estate manager and associated assumptions of benefits. The public prosecutor's office is also investigating the allotment garden affair from 2020, whereby Nevrivy is suspected of having benefited from insider knowledge about the conversion of a property into building land, which is said to have led to a significant increase in the value. The accusation includes abuse of office and bribery. Despite the preliminary suspicions, Nevrivy continues to enjoy trust within his district party and the town hall is at his side wien.ORF.at determines.
