EFG Turbinenbau: Carinthia's energy pioneer receives governor's coat of arms!
On September 5, 2025, the EFG turbine and power plant plant in Feldkirchen received the coat of arms of the state of Carinthia from the hands of Governor Peter Kaiser and State Councilor Sebastian Schuschnig. This event recognizes the outstanding importance of the company for the domestic economy and innovative strength. EFG celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2024 and is considered a pioneer in the construction, production and delivery of turbines for hydropower plants.
The company was founded in 1984 when Otto Hoffmann, Günther Eder and Adolf Rausch laid the foundation stone. EFG currently employs more than 50 people, including about 10% apprentices, and is headed by Werner Goldberger and his son Martin Goldberger, the authorized signatory. Technical director is Gero Pretis. EFG has not only made a name for itself in Austria, but also internationally in countries such as Italy, Germany, Norway, Albania and in the Himalayan region, where the company built a power plant in Nepal.
Sustainability and customer relationships
EFG supplies numerous well -known customers such as Kelag, ÖBB, Verbund, Stadtwerke and the Austrian Federal Forest. Managing Director Werner Goldberger emphasizes the company's competence and stability. It is noteworthy that EFG has never lost a customer and always relies on long -term customer relationships. Propurist Martin Goldberger also emphasizes the company's flexibility, which is shown in the entire order processing from planning to assembly.
The complete order processing takes place internally, whereby EFG also acts as a service provider for maintenance, maintenance, repair and modernization of power plant systems. A current example is the operation of a photovoltaic system on the roofs of the company, which generates 110 kilowatts of solar power. The commitment to technical innovation also shows the purchase of a state-of-the-art CNC-Fräs-Trehen-Trehen-Trahnachungszentrum last year.
The role of hydropower
The importance of hydropower as a renewable form of energy is underlined by developments in the energy sector. Pumped storage power plants (PSW) that use water for energy storage play a crucial role in security of supply. They can obtain electricity at low -consumption times and feed back in times of high needs. This flexibility is particularly important because the proportion of renewable energies, such as wind power and photovoltaics, is continuously increasing.
PSW are able to compensate for unpredictable deviations from production and demand in the power grid and take over the regulation of the blind power in idle. These aspects make you an indispensable part of the future energy infrastructure, which guarantees the integration of renewable energies.
In summary, it can be stated that EFG turbine construction is not only considered the leading provider in the hydropower industry, but also actively contributes to securing sustainable and future -oriented energy supply.
