Cari Cari: Additional tickets for a sold-out concert in the Lienz City Hall!
On August 28, 2025, the indie rock duo "Cari Cari" will give a concert in the Lienz city hall. The decision to refrain from the originally planned open-air event in the castle was made by the urban culture director Claudia Funder for weather reasons. The concert, which has been sold out for months, now offers some additional tickets because the city hall offers more space than the castle. On Thursday, interested fans can buy tickets from 7 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Liebburg Citizens' Service.
Cari Cari, consisting of Stephanie (vocals, drums, didgeridoo) and Alexander (vocals, guitar), is a DIY duo based in London, Hamburg and Vienna. Often described as “the lovechild of The Kills and The XX,” their music features influences such as Morricone and the raw energy of Cat Power. Her songs “White Line Fever” and “No War” can be heard in Hollywood productions such as “Shameless” and “The Magicians”. The single “Nothing’s Older Than Yesterday” led to extensive tours and appearances at renowned festivals.
Festivals and performances
The band has, among other things, at important events such as the Primavera Sound in Barcelona, the Great Escape in Great Britain, Eurosonic Noorderslag in the Netherlands and the Melt! Festival played in Germany. These festivals are part of a vibrating network in Europe that offers indie artists a platform to present their music and exchange ideas.
Europe is considered a hub for indie music festivals and has produced a vibrant music scene since World War II. Cities like London, Manchester, Berlin and Paris have become important places for innovative musicians and cultural exchange. The open infrastructure, including independent record labels and media, promotes collaboration between artists and facilitates access to a wider audience.
The role of indie rock in society
Indie music often reflects social and political issues and offers artists the opportunity to raise their voice. Festivals such as the Melt Festival and the Sziget Festival in Budapest celebrate creativity and diversity and are important events in the European event calendar. Such events strengthen the community and come to the fore new, exciting artists.
The upcoming concert in Lienz not only promises to become a musical highlight, but also an opportunity to meet the meeting for the fans of Cari Cari and indie music. It will be a unique experience for the ticket buyers to experience the band in a new frame.
