Caroline Bredlinger and Raphael Pallitsch disappoint at ÖLV-Hallen-State Championships 2025 in Linz after just missed final places.

Bitter disappointment for Bredlinger: Haarscharf past the European Championship limit!

The Austrian National Athletics Championships in Linz offered exciting competitions in which both Raphael Pallitsch and Lotte Seiler showed outstanding performances. Pallitsch, competing in his first 3,000-meter race in almost two decades, took the lead with an impressive time of 7:48.15 minutes, breaking Max Wenisch's local indoor record for the M35 age group from 1997 by half a minute Runup.eu reported. This was a remarkable return for the experienced athlete who saw that his time in the 1,500-meter run ended with 3: 52.67 minutes.

In a consistently convincing competition, Lotte Seiler also secured two gold medals. She dominated the 3,000-meter run with a strong performance and subsequently prevailed in the 1,500 meter race, where her time had been the second best in this discipline for 20 years. In the midst of these successes, however, Caroline Bredlinger had a bitter day: she scored 2: 02.11 minutes, only eleven hundredths of a second over the Hallen-European Championship limit, past the qualification for the indoor championship in Apeldoorn, reported the ORF. Despite her outstanding performance, she felt disappointed after the race and clearly showed how close she was to her goal.

For both, Pallitsch and Seiler, the weekend was confirmation of their skills and preparation for upcoming international competitions. Pallitsch will start at the World Cup in China in two weeks, while Bredlinger's hopes for the Hallen European Championship now depend on possible cancellations of other athletes. It remains to be seen whether she still gets the chance to qualify for the competition.
