Biker from the Czech Republic dies after horror crash in Upper Austria
Grein, Oberösterreich, Österreich - A tragic motorcycle accident in Upper Austria called for the life of a 42-year-old motorcyclist from the Czech Republic on June 10, 2025. The driver was traveling on a winding route in Grein when he came off the street in a left turn and stuck down a slope for about ten meters. The accident occurred around 5 p.m. and an immediately alarmed witness informed the rescue workers about the accident. The motorcyclist was flown to the Amstetten Clinic, however, where he succumbed to his injuries on June 16, 2025, such as OE24 reported.
The circumstances of the accident are unfortunately not isolated. On Saturday there were several other serious motorcycle accidents in Upper Austria, which were favored by the pleasant summer weather. According to Krone two more motorcyclists in the region within just 15 minutes. The first accident took place in Unterach on Lake Attersee. Here a 53-year-old motorcyclist overlooked a 37-year-old driver after a double curve. The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was flown to the Salzburg State Hospital by the emergency medical helicopter. The driver and his 33-year-old passenger remained unharmed.

Another accident occurred around 3 p.m. when a 77-year-old driver from St. Willibald overlooked a motorcyclist when turning into the Messenbach freight path. The 39-year-old motorcyclist from St. Georgen near Salzburg was thrown by the two-wheeler and landed in a strip of green 20 meters. He was brought to the hospital in the Innkreis with injuries indefinitely, while the driver remained unharmed and an alkotest was negative.
The events of this week are part of a worrying trend. The regularly collected data on road traffic accidents with personal injury in Austria show that motorcycles are particularly often involved in accidents. Statistics Austria collects these accidents in order to provide reliable data for accident research and prevention. One goal of these statistics is to improve traffic safety and to reduce the number of accidents, especially with severe personal injury.
