The Gießen Christmas ball 2024 will be an absolute highlight! This year the beautiful palm house in the Botanical Garden of the JLU Gießen is adorned with the festive ball that goes on sale on November 18. In the event of an exciting vote, the botanical garden clearly prevailed against two other motifs and was named the winner. The anticipation of Christmas is increasing!

The Gießen Christmas ball is offered for the sixth time, and the demand will be unbroken. Impressive 1200 copies have been sold since the first edition in 2019. The sales starts are legendary-long snakes form before the tourist information, while the fans of the balls are waiting for their chance to get one of the coveted collector's pieces. This year, 240 manual paints and numbered balls are offered, which are only produced once. An additional limited edition of 120 non -numbered balls will also be available, but these are not reproduced either.

Exclusive sales details

The start of sales is scheduled for Monday, November 18, at 10 a.m. The Christmas ball costs 19.95 euros and is only available in the Gießen tourist information (Schulstraße 4). Due to the high demand, the sale is limited to two balls per customer. Orders or reservations are not possible before the start of sales, but afterwards. Gießen Marketing GmbH recommends being at the point of sale early to secure one of the coveted balls!

Frank Hölscheidt, Managing Director of Gießen Marketing GmbH, is looking forward to handing over the first balls to Holger Laake, the technical director of the botanical garden, and Prof. Volker Wissemann, the scientific director. Joanna Müller, the head of the tourist information, emphasizes how nice it is that the Gießeners have chosen the palm house that represents the green heart of the city center.
