Austria's creative shine: DMB. Win bronze at the Cannes Lions 2025!

Austria's creative scene celebrated considerable success at this year's Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in Cannes, which took place from June 16 to 2025. The agency DMB. (Demner, Merlicek & Bergmann) received the bronze lions in the "Brand Experience & Activation" category for their "Sights of Tomorrow" campaign. This campaign, which was realized in cooperation with the last generation of Austria initiative, uses AI-generated pictures to draw attention to the threats to climate change. With the implementation of the world's first digital climate protest on Google Maps, Austria's sights were changed so that the effects of climate change were visualized. DMB. was the only Austrian agency that was awarded a bronze lion at the Cannes Lions, while a total of 69 lions were awarded in different categories. The Grand Prix went to FCB Chicago for the "Caption with Intention" campaign, which redefines the visual language of accessibility.

Oliver Böhm, Managing Director of the ORF-ENTERPRISE, emphasized the importance of profit for the communication location of Austria. A total of 2,337 projects were submitted in the competition submission, which were evaluated by an international jury. In addition to the bronze award, the "Rosalilaland" campaign for the Vienna City Insurance was placed on the shortlist in the "Media" category, which underlines the high creativity of the Austrian agencies.

At the same time, the CCA Venus 2025 was awarded in Austria, which is considered one of the most important awards in the communication industry. Since its introduction in 1972, 167 Venus statues have been awarded in 15 main categories. A total of 1,410 work was submitted, and the juries, consisting of 145 jurors, had the demanding task of evaluating the best submissions.

dmb. was recognized as "Creative Lead of the Year" and was able to show 3 gold, 12 silver and 15 bronze awards as well as 32 short list positions in the balance sheet. The "Venus for Change" for the "Sights of Tomorrow" campaign and the "Venus for Equality" for the "Rosalilaland" campaign included special awards. These successes prove the creative power of the agency in different categories.

Other first-placed agencies, including Jung von Matt Donau and Vienna Nord Service Plan, also demonstrated their skills, with Jung from Matt Donau received 4 gold and 11 silver awards, while Vienna Nord Service Plan won two gold and three silver awards. In the rankings for the "Client of the Year", the Viennese city table took first place, followed by Wientourism and the first bank and Sparkasse.

The success of the Austrian creative scene is also important for future international competitions, since all award -winning works for the rankings of the One Club for Creativity and the ADCAR Awards 2025 in Barcelona are qualified.*
