Major construction work on the Inntal motorway: 20 million for safety!
From March 10th, ASFINAG will begin comprehensive renovation work on the A 12 Inntal motorway between Hall-West and Innsbruck-Ost. This work is absolutely necessary to increase traffic safety and includes the renewal of the roadway and the drainage systems on both carriageways. In addition, the bridges in this section and the Innsbruck-Ost junction will be renovated tirol.orf.at reported.
ASFINAG is investing a total of 20 million euros in these measures. During construction work, traffic should be hindered “as little as possible” so that two lanes remain open in each direction. Drivers can rest assured that all lanes, on- and off-ramps, and connections to the city's transport network are continuously available to minimize congestion, such as meinkreis.at notes.
Extensive noise protection measures
There is also a particular focus on noise protection: a new noise barrier will be built along the existing protective wall in the Ampass/Peerhöfe area. In addition, the B 89 flyover bridge will be demolished and rebuilt in order to modernize the infrastructure. In the future, three lanes, each 3.50 meters wide, will be available for the wider exit from the Innsbruck-Ost junction towards Bregenz in order to ensure a smoother traffic flow towards the city. In order to be able to implement these comprehensive measures, a construction road including a temporary bridge will be built.
