In the ICE Hockey League, the EC Red Bull Salzburg has achieved a convincing 6-1 win against HC Innsbruck. After three winless games, this match was the longed -for success for the Salzburg, who had control over the game right from the start and had a lot of time.

The game took place in front of around 2300 spectators in Innsbruck, and the guests from Salzburg started with a lot of pressure. In the first third, they immediately took advantage of the first overpayment chance: Thomas Raffl quickly brought the team into the lead when he sank the puck in the follow -up on the net. Just five minutes later, Ali Wukovits increased in a counterattack, which brought Tyrolean goalkeeper Markus Gratzer, who also celebrated his string of the season.

Dominance and a double strike

In the further course of the game, Salzburg dominated, even if Innsbruck fought a little better into the game. During the game, the Salzburgers allowed only a few dangerous shots on their goal, and their goalkeeper Atte Tolvanen showed his strength. In the final phase of the second third, however, the Salzburg hurried a goal when differently Krogsgaard surprisingly netted from a distance. But the reaction of the guests was promptly: Nikolaus Kraus restored the old distance with an unfortunate goal for Gratzer.

After the break, however, things went even faster: Within only 43 seconds, the Red Bulls added two more goals. Wukovits secured his second goal, followed by a strong shot from the native Innsbrucker, Mario Huber, who scored the 5-1. The preliminary decision had been made.

The guests continued to play and rewarded themselves with another goal in the power play by Peter Schneider, who also crowned his 300th league game with a goal. Captain Raffl, his 700th point in the league, also celebrated after 931 encounters. Salzburg was also superior in the remaining minutes and had the game under control. Innsbruck had a few chances, but Tolvanen was there, so that the Salzburgers clearly brought the highly deserved away win.
