The tourism experts in Saalbach-Hinterglemm are already preparing for an exciting World Ski Championships in February 2025! From February 4th to 16th the region will become the center of international skiing and hoteliers are optimistic, despite some rooms being available. Albert Schwaighofer from the Hotel Association explains that the booking situation for February 2025 is not surprising, as many guests make short-term decisions and the World Cup is not always the main reason for booking. Nevertheless, they are hoping for numerous ski fans who want to celebrate the event, like at the 1991 World Ski Championships.
How salzburg.orf.at reported, the booking situation shows that some hotels, including Franz Josef Brettermeier's, still have rooms available, contrary to expectations. Brettermeier observes that some guests are hesitant because of the noise during the event, while others are looking for the hustle and bustle to get up close to the athletes. Accommodation prices are also rising, making guests more choosy. There seems to be a clear trend towards spontaneous bookings, which has become established since the Corona pandemic.
