Lack of snow for ski lifts: glimmer of hope in Alberschwende!

In Alberschwende there are turbulent developments in the skiing and leisure area. The former managing director of Alberschwenders Skilifte, Reinold Baumann, described the current situation about the lack of snow as "massive". The ski lifts had to be temporarily closed, but how vorarlberg.orf.at reports, this is not only due to climatic conditions, but on lack of agreements with landowners. The trend is alarming: from 2018 to 2023, the companies were faced with a snow problem in three winters. Despite existing snow cannons, snowmaking was often impossible because the temperatures were not sufficient. Only in one of the five years could an economically positive balance be drawn.

However, Daniel Paluselli, the head of the Schwarzenberg ski school, has decided to take things into his own hands. He agreed with the landowners and will take over the Alberschwenders ski lifts because the snow conditions on the Bödele is considered unsafe. As he announced, a permit for snowing into Alberschwende has already been granted, statistical support is available in the form of the 20,000 overnight stays in the village, as the data show. Paluselli plans to operate the ski lift in connection with his ski school and a kiosk. The focus is on offering families and children an uncomplicated skim option - a valuable offer in the region.
