Salzburg's children learn healthy eating: thousands!
Hallein, Österreich - The "Austrian consumer dialogues" taking place in Salzburg and Hallein from June 23 to July 4, 2025 offer thousands of children and parents various free events for healthy and sustainable nutrition. Around 2,500 children from 30 kindergartens and schools have already participated in this event series, which is organized by the non -profit Foundation Común in cooperation with the city of Salzburg, Hallein and other partners. This initiative aims to raise awareness of healthy eating habits and know how to impart how nutrition affects well -being. ots.at reports that the activations include a wide range of offers, from workshops to theater demonstrations and excursions.
activities in the first days of consumer dialogues include a multi -day station operation at the Agricultural technical school in Klessheim as well as special courses of seminar farmers in kindergartens. In addition, excursions to farms and theater performances took place in the Toihaus. A special film evening in the Oval cinema, which dealt with the influence of sugar on early childhood brain development, attracted numerous visitors in the first week. A grill stand with the Salzburg Mayor Bernhard Auinger at the city festival was also accepted with great response.
variety of offers and planned actions
In the second week of the consumer dialogue, further promising actions are planned. This includes campaign days in schools, political visits and the distribution of free snacks at the end of school. A fireplace interview in Mirabell Castle will bring important actors from agricultural policy together with representatives of the economy and NGOs. State Secretary Ulrike Königsberger-Ludwig will also visit the consumer dialogues and participate in the discussions about healthy eating.
On June 30th there is a particularly important event: The musical high school organizes a day that is all about food waste. Another event highlight will be set on July 1 at the Waldorf Campus Salzburg, where the topics of water and sugar are treated. The final event of the consumer dialogue will take place on July 4th in Hallein, supported by regional providers such as Woerle and Stiegl, which offer healthy snacks.
educational dimension and nutritional competence
The importance of nutritional formation also makes it clear through current studies, as can be found, for example, in the study of the University of Paderborn, which was carried out on behalf of the BMLeh. This study emphasizes that there is no nationwide nutritional education in daycare centers and schools in Germany, although the topics of nutrition and eating culture are important. In order to achieve a targeted improvement, the BMLeh focuses on networking the educational offers and the development of high -quality teaching materials. Further information can be found at bmel.de .
The consumer dialogues in Salzburg not only act as a platform for the spread of knowledge about healthy eating, but also actively contribute to improving nutritional education in the population. With their diverse orientation, they stand as a project model for future educational measures that are intended to promote essential components of a healthy lifestyle.
