Rookie Music Year: Fresh sound and live acts for Villach!

The city marketing Villach has launched an exciting music project that is under the title "Rookie Music Year". Initially, only a “Rookie Music Week” was planned, but due to the high response, it was decided to expand the project to a whole year. Over 80 applications were submitted, from which 40 talented acts were selected. The musical palette ranges from indie to Austropop to singer-songwriter and electrical.

The first event will take place on June 27, 2025. On a total of eight Fridays in the summer months, visitors can look forward to a musical diversity. In various partner companies from trade and gastronomy, five rookie musicians will perform live, so that the city center of Villach is transformed into a pulsating center for music and culture.

The goal of this project is to make young talents visible and offer them the opportunity to present their music to a wide audience.
