Pogačar convinced: Triumph at the first mountain arrival of the Dauphiné!

Combloux, Frankreich - On June 13, 2025, Tadej Pogačar impressively won the first mountain arrival at the 6th stage of the Dauphiné tour in Collrei. The stage comprised a distance of 126.7 kilometers, which demanded a high performance from the drivers. Pogačar set off from his main competitors seven kilometers before the finish line and secured the victory in front of Jonas Vingegaard, who took second place with a gap of 1:01 minutes. Florian Lipowitz from Red Bull rounded off the podium in third place with a distance of 1:22 minutes. After this success, Pogačar took over the overall lead and is now 43 seconds ahead of Vingegaard.

Remco Evenepoel, the previous leader, had to lose 1:50 minutes after a fall the day before and was passed back in the overall ranking. The view is now aimed at the next stage, which leads to Valmeinier on Saturday. This will be particularly challenging because three mountains of the highest category with almost 5,000 meters of altitude can be managed. The dress rehearsal for the Tour de France ends on Sunday on the plateau du Mont-Cenis.

strategies in the mountain range

Today's stage clearly showed how important the strategy is in the mountains. Pogačar used his climbing skills to make a decisive breakfast while Vingegaard and the other favorites were watching. Pogačar also showed his strength in the opening stage of the Critérum Du Dauphiné, which recently took place when he left Jonas Vingegaard and Mathieu van der Poel in the sprint. This stage led from Domérat to Montluçon and had a distance of 195.8 kilometers. Vingegaard tried to attack the last six kilometers after an increase, but could not win the victory.

A crucial moment in the first stage was the formation of a five -time brake, which included Vingegaard, van der Poel and Evenepoel. The first stage had already signaled fighting spirit, which increased the anticipation for the upcoming challenges.
