Last Saturday, a festive event was celebrated in the main square of Wiener Neustadt, which put the city in a pre -Christmas mood. The illumination of a magnificent Christmas tree that comes from the municipality of Lanzenkirchen was the focus of the day. Mayor Klaus Schneeberger von Wiener Neustadt expressed his gratitude towards Bernhard Karnthaler, the mayor of Lanzenkirchen, for this beautiful fir.
But not everything went smoothly. Shortly before the enlightenment, Karnthaler was stung by a winter -proof wasp, which led to a clear swelling in his face. Despite his swollen face, he accepted the friendly words of the delegation of Wiener Neustadt, which, in addition to Schneeberger, also included Christian Stocker, Rainer Spenger, Franz Dinhobl and Franz Piribauer.
Festive atmosphere with music
The event was musically enriched by appearances by children's choirs from Wiener Neustadt and Lanzenkirchen as well as local brass music. A special highlight was the enlightenment of a walk -in Christmas ball, which is considered the number one photo spot in Advent and attracts many visitors.
Another interesting aspect of the Christmas market is the new location of the Lions punch stand, which is now placed in front of the former "White Rössl". There is a selection of drinks here, including tea with rum, which is not quite cheap for the Häferl for 5.50 euros plus a fee of 3 euros, but contributes to a good cause.
A definitive date for the first official Advent market in Wiener Neustadt was confirmed: it opens on Friday, November 29th, in the city park. Preparations are already underway and there are already initial activities in the district that will initiate the advent time.
