Warming chestnuts and political discussions: Tulln's pre-Christmas meeting
Recently, Tulln's main square has become a lively place with a festive atmosphere and political discussions. Under the motto “Warm chestnuts and hot topics”, the Freedom and Independent Tullners organized a distribution campaign in which around 500 bags of hot chestnuts were distributed to interested citizens. This campaign not only served as a culinary delight, but also as a platform for a direct exchange of ideas and concerns.
“Direct contact with people is particularly important to us,” explained Andreas Bors, who serves as a city councilor and member of the state parliament. “Such actions give us the opportunity to hear the concerns of the population first hand and to talk about current issues that concern us in Tulln and across the country.” These discussions included, among other things, the traffic situation in the city, the challenges regarding an affordable energy supply and the upcoming local council elections next January.
Political issues in focus
Interaction with citizens was of great importance at the event. Many visitors not only enjoyed the warm chestnuts, but also appreciated the opportunity to chat with Freedom Party representatives in a relaxed environment. “This kind of proximity to citizens shows us that we take people’s concerns seriously and care about their concerns,” added Bors.
Such actions are part of the strategy of the Freedom and Independent Tulln to promote contact with citizens and inform them about their political priorities. In doing so, you create an atmosphere in which discussions about important local issues can take place.
The event attracted a lot of interest and showed that political participation can be fun even in an informal setting. This reflects how important dialogue between politicians and citizens is. The Freedom and Independent Tulln are planning further events like this to demonstrate their accessibility and commitment.
