Tulln celebrates its christening: tradition meets digital innovation

Last week the Tullnerfeld wine baptism was celebrated in an extraordinary setting in the House of Digitalization. The event, which was organized by Donaukultur KG in collaboration with the House of Digitalization, brought the digital world and the traditional culture of wine enjoyment together harmoniously.

The guests, invited by Franz Müllner, experienced a wonderful evening. The wine was blessed by Pastor Eusebiu Bulai from the region in a festive atmosphere. The christened wine, a Grüner Veltliner from the renowned Emil Bauer winery in Ottenthal am Wagram, was named “Merci Udo”. This title is an honorable memory of the popular musician Udo Jürgens, who died ten years ago.

Current developments and guest appearances

In addition to the ceremonial wine consecration, the wine godfather Werner Auer will give a concert on November 16th at the Berghotel Tulbingerkogel, which is also dedicated to Udo Jürgens. Auer shows his support for the event, which was organized with the aim of collecting donations for the charitable cause “Licht ins Dunkel Tullnerfeld”. Harald Suchanek, a security advisor for the Austrian Security Service, was also present at the wine christening and contributed to the successful event.

The 4 Seasons inn from Stockerau provided the culinary accompaniment and served the guests exquisite delicacies. The Emil Bauer winery generously provided not only the baptismal wine, but also other wines.

This successful wine baptism not only represented a successful bridge between modern technology and the tradition of viticulture, but was also a successful joint project. Claus Bruckmann led through the program and provided entertaining moderation.

“A big thank you goes to the team at the House of Digitalization, led by managing director Lukas Reutterer, for the excellent organization of this special event,” said Müllner.

The wine baptism was a complete success and left everyone involved with a lasting memory of an extraordinary evening full of enjoyment and community engagement.
