Serious traffic accident near Wartberg: Alcohol suspected after crash

Several people were injured in a serious traffic accident in Kremsmünster last Saturday. A 23-year-old who comes from the Kirchdorf district was driving on Guntendorfer Straße in the direction of Kremsmünster when her vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree. In addition to the driver, there were two 24-year-olds and a 30-year-old in the car, all also from the Kirchdorf district.

Immediately after the impact, all occupants of the vehicle were injured. Some of them are said to be in more serious condition. Rescue workers provided initial care to the injured before they were taken to hospitals in Steyr, Kirchdorf and Wels.

Cause of the accident and alcohol test

The exact circumstances that led to this unfortunate incident are currently unclear. An alcohol test carried out on the driver showed evidence of possible intoxication. Due to her injuries, the test could not be carried out as intended using a calibrated breathalyzer. The responsible public prosecutor's office therefore ordered a blood sample to be taken to obtain clear results.

Authorities will seek further information to fully clarify the causes of the accident. The situation remains tense for those involved and their relatives, while the families of the injured wait for the latest news from the hospitals.
