The St. Aegyd fire department took over the rescue of the deceased, while the motorcycle was removed from the scene of the accident by the emergency services from the St. Aegyd fire department and the Kernhof volunteer fire department. Both drivers fell and had to be transported by rescue helicopter to the St. Pölten and Amstetten state clinics with serious or unspecified injuries.
Another accident occurred late in the afternoon in Jaidhof in the Krems district, where a 51-year-old motorcyclist slipped on a curve on State Road 57 and collided with a 69-year-old oncoming biker. Both drivers suffered significant injuries, with one being taken to the Krems State Hospital by emergency helicopter and the other being taken to the Horn State Hospital by ambulance.
