Change of power at the DSV: cross-country star Schlütter becomes the new managing director!

On May 1, 2025 there will be a significant change in the management of the German Ski Association (DSV). Hubert Schwarz will leave his position as managing director of DSV competitive sports GmbH and as a spokesman for the board. He has worked behind the scenes for the DSV since 1994 and has been the spokesman for the newly founded board since 2017. In his function, he was largely responsible for finances and competitive sports.

The DSV President Jörg Flechtner praised Hubert Schwarz for his sustainable influence on the association and praised his years of contributions that shaped skiing in Germany. The association was able to celebrate many successes under black 'management, including its own sporting career, which was crowned with the 1988 Olympics victory and the world championship title in 1985.

Andreas Schlütter becomes the new managing director

The fortunes of the DSV will in future be managed by Andreas Schlütter, who, as a former cross-country vice world champion, has extensive experience in the sports management. Schlütter, who is 52 years old, will not only take on Hubert Schwarz's tasks, but will also act as the new spokesman for the DSV board. He has worked as a sports director of the cross-country ski division since 2014 and has networked well in the association during this time.

Andreas Schlütter brings an impressive sporty vita: he won Olympic silver and twice silver at World Championships. This change at the head of the DSV represents an important development for the future of German winter sports and could set new impulses for the coming years.

The handover process, which Hubert Schwarz initiated and accompanied over several months, ensures that the change in the tour is seamlessly. The DSV remains on a stable course and can continue to fall back on the experiences and knowledge of the new management.

With this personnel decision, promising times are emerging for the German Ski Association, while Hubert Schwarz's legacy is continued in both sporting and organizational terms. The DSV faces exciting challenges and opportunities that Andreas Schlütter will approach.

Laola1 reports that Hubert Schwarz was active in the DSV for over 30 years and that the association can now rely on innovative changes led by Andreas Schlütter. Further information on this change of management can also be found in the article of Mercury.
