The bodies of two men were discovered in a car with Austrian license plates at the Lipno reservoir in southern Bohemia, Czech Republic. The discovery occurred during diving exercises by the Czech military, during which the vehicle was found about 12 meters from the shore at a depth of 2 meters. According to Kleine Zeitung, the Mühlviertler disappeared in 2015 after a card evening in Zwettl an der Rodl. Her last sign of life was a radar photo that showed her in Bad Leonfelden on September 12, 2015. There are indications that they may have been on their way to Vyssi Brod (Hohenfurth).
Investigations and hopes of relatives
Over the years, large-scale searches were carried out in Austria and the Czech Republic, but no trace of the two men was found. The case was taken over by the cold case department of the Federal Criminal Police Office in 2017. The current find could potentially shed light on this. Years ago, a witness had seen a formation in the water that resembled the missing Citroen, but divers were unable to find the vehicle at the time.
