Kickboxing for everyone! Para-Sport brings inclusion to Innsbruck

Innsbruck, Österreich - On June 8, 2025, significant events are imminent in Kickboxing. Nikolaus Gstättner, the management director of the Austrian Federal Association for Thai and Kickboxen ( laola1.at ) optimistic about the upcoming competitions. Two athletes from the association, Erik Zimmermann and Noel Salzburger, have qualified for the World Games in Chengdu, China. Gstättner assumes realistic medal opportunities for both athletes. Zimmermann recently convinced at the World Cup in Istanbul, while Salzburger plans to test its shape at Sport Austria Finals in Innsbruck.

The preparation of the athletes is described as professional and individually, supported by the Olympic centers and national team courses. Particularly noteworthy is the return of Sport Austria Finals to Innsbruck in 2024, where a martial arts cluster with Taekwondo and judo is to be created. A special highlight will be the first official Para kickbox demonstration in Austria, which serves to make inclusion visible in sports.

Inclusion in focus

In para kick boxes, the focus is on controlled forms of movement, not on fighting. In Austria, six to seven clubs are already involved in para-sport, and numerous athletes: inside with handicap regularly train.
