The literature autumn 2025 in Carinthia is just around the corner and promises a varied program for enthusiasts. On Monday, September 1st, the Eboard Museum Klagenfurt will become a stage for various authors. The well-known thriller author Gerald Eschenauer will moderate the evening and welcome the guests.
Among the invited guests is the winner of the popular format "Dancing Stars", Roswitha Wieland, who will present her debut novel "TV Type". Furthermore, the South Tyrolean author Bernhard Brugger and Sabine Trampitsch, who speaks about their topic "basic trust", will appear. The event begins at 7 p.m. and admission is free.
Diverse events in the coming week
The next literary event will take place on Thursday, September 4th, in the Socas Atelier in Villach. Here Ingrid Thain and Johann (a) will read Tosin, while Dr. Rudolf Zucha will keep free speech. Entry is also free for this event, which promotes access to literature.
Another highlight is the Kulturwalk by Villach on Sunday, September 21st. Together with a surprise guest, Gerald Eschenauer will lead the participants to the most beautiful places in the city. The contribution to expenses is 13 euros and registration is required. The meeting point is at 9.45 a.m. on the pedestrian bridge of the congress center Villach.
Focus on readings and scholarships
On Thursday, September 25th, a balance sheet reading will take place in the Dinzl castle Villach. Prize winners of the literary scholarships, including Renate Aichinger, Lisa-Viktoria Niederberger and Daniel Wagner, will present their texts that evening, musically framed by special performances.
Buch13, the organization that curates these events, has set itself the goal of promoting domestic literature culture. In the past, Buch13 has organized successful readings and authorsalks, including the cooperation with the Brechach bookstore, which will start on Friday, September 13th with a reading by Gerald Eschenauer.
In addition, a writing competition is also advertised as part of Buch13 to encourage the creativity of writers. Literature scholarships are also offered, which include two scholarships and a special prize for Villach authors for 2025.
Readings in Möderdorf Castle
The literary scene is also enriched by a reading with Claudia Rosenwirth-Fendre and Friedegund Rainer on Thursday, September 4, 2025, in Möderdorf Castle near Hermagor. Tickets are available for 9 euros. Rosenwirth-Fendre is known for their numerous publications and their commitment to social projects, while Rainer looks back on training in violoncelling studies and is involved in various musical projects.
