Hohenemser Küchenstudio takes over Dornbirner furniture store!
Dornbirn, Österreich - The Hohenemser Küchenstudio Horst-the Küche Obwegeser GmbH strengthened its presence in Vorarlberg by taking over the living.life.style Dachs GmbH. This retrospective takeover came into force on January 1, 2025 and was announced by Nicole Obwegeser, the managing partner. With this measure, Obwegeser GmbH pursues the goal of expanding its range and further expanding the Boconcept brand in the region. The location in Dornbirn remains, as is the workforce.
The takeover takes place in the context of the upcoming withdrawal from company founder Jürgen Dachs, who retires in autumn 2025. Nicole Obwegeser takes over 80 % of the company shares, while 20 % pass to Matthias Cardin, Dachs' stepson. In the future, Cardin will be registered as an authorized representative of Wohn.life.style Dachs GmbH. A renaming of society is already being planned.
expanded offers and challenges
Owwegese announced that the range of furniture, accessories and furnishings are expanded, whereby the focus is in particular on kitchens. The current business location of Boconcept in Dornbirn will not be affected by the changes. Despite a tense business situation in Vorarlberg, which is described as "somewhat difficult", Obwegeser expects to benefit from the flourishing market in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
With currently 70 % of their business in the kitchen area in Switzerland and Liechtenstein and 30 % in Vorarlberg, the company has a solid customer base. Obwegeser GmbH, which sells and assembles around 100 kitchens every year, characterize over 17 years of experience in kitchen sales. Three employees are currently employed in the company.
boconcept in Germany under pressure
At the same time, a different development in the Boconcept world causes a stir: The brand will disappear from Cologne, Düsseldorf and Essen by the end of March 2025. This step is the result of a dispute with the previous franchisee "Arbo Möbeldesign", which has not accepted the new conditions for franchise contracts. The managing director of Boconcept Germany, Arne Kristiansen, emphasized that the partnership existed for over 25 years, but was no longer viable.
A first crack in the collaboration was created five years ago when the Danish owner family Boconcept was sold to an English equity fund. In the future, Scandinavian interior will continue to be offered in the remaining Boconcept transactions, but in February there will be a clearance sale that will continue until the end of March.
