Dumreicher-Vivanu again elected chairman of the film and music industry!
In the constituent committee meeting of the Film and Music Industry Association in the Austria (WKÖ) Chamber of Commerce (WKÖ), which took place on Tuesday, the top of the association was newly elected for the functional period 2025 to 2030. Alexander Dumreicher-Vivanu, Managing Director of Amour Fou Vienna GmbH, was re-elected as a specialist association chairman. This vote is an important sign of continuity in the management of the specialist association, which plays a central role in the Austrian film and music industry. Dumreicher-Viveanu thanked for the trust of the members of the Federal Committee and underlined the importance of structural measures that the federal government must support in order to ensure the competitiveness of the industry. This is particularly important in view of the challenges with which the film and music industry is confronted.
The newly elected deputy heads Julia Sobieszek from Mutterschifffilm GmbH and Sandra Klingohr from Sandrats Media GmbH are at the side. Another board member for sound and music production was Teddy Maier from the Tonzoo OG. The newly chosen leadership has set clear priorities. So Sobieszek announced that the specialist association would pay particular attention to podcasts, while Klingohr emphasized the representation of all political factions in the association presidium and focused on non -fictional formats in the area of TV and streaming.
important challenges and goals
teddy Maier pointed out the challenges that encounter music promotion as well as the strategy for the music location and internationalization. Maier also thanked the long-time chairman of the chairman Georg Tomandl for his significant merits. The new board members have set themselves the goal of representing the interests of the Austrian film and music industry and strengthening cooperation with specialist representatives from all federal states. This happens at a time when the industry has to struggle with a changing media landscape and stagnating budgets in the funding sector.
The specialist association has already submitted a comprehensive offer paper, which, among other things, provides for the increase in federal film funding by 25%. The required increases include the Austrian film institute, FISA (Austria) and the Austria television fund. Furthermore, the aim is to create a tax model for promoting private investments in film productions in order to expand the financial basis of the industry. Additional efforts, such as the opening of the music fund, are also intended to strengthen the music location, whereby the annual promotion is to be increased from less than € 1 million to € 3 million.
growing network of the film and music industry
The Film and Music Industry Association is part of an extensive network that includes numerous organizations and interest representatives, including the Academy of Austrian Film, the Association of Film Remove and Sales Societies as well as IFPI Austria, the Association of the Austrian Music Industry. These institutions work together to strengthen the position of the Austrian film and music industry in an increasingly competing international environment. A resolution and comprehensive support of domestic productions is essential to create innovative and high -quality content.
With a view to the coming years, the new leadership shows that it is ready to actively face the challenges and to offer the Austrian film and music industry a promising future.
