Welzelach, Österreich - On June 13, 2025, the Water Rescue East Tyrol was informed by the police about the disappearance of a kayak that has been missing since June 9th. A canoeist had reported his kayak, which was spotted on the area of the Isel near Welzelach, as lost. This marked the beginning of a coordinated rescue operation.

The kayak was discovered in the immediate vicinity of a 80 -meter -high suspension bridge. The cooperation between the water rescue East Tyrol and the mountain rescue virgen proved to be essential to recover the kayak. On Friday, June 13th, they met on site and carried out a location exploration. It was decided to rivaple two white water rescuers from the suspension bridge.
