Donauinselfest 2025: Inclusion concert and musical diversity awaited!
Donauinsel, Wien, Österreich - On June 19, 2025, the Danube Island Festival will be back in the starting blocks and will be opened tomorrow on June 20. The 42nd Danube Island Festival, which is considered Europe's largest open-air festival with free admission, has the motto "Your island. Real moments." written on the flags. An important part of the festival is the “Milow for everyone” inclusion concert, which will take place at 10:00 a.m. on the Vienna Energie / Radio FM4 Festbrühne. The event is moderated by Luca Kielhauser. The event is aimed particularly at young people with disabilities and their families, educators and supervisors, and is realized in cooperation with Hallermobil and the start-up Fullaccess.
The inclusion concept has become more important in recent years. Matthias Friedrich, Managing Director of Pro Event Team for Vienna, emphasizes the long -term cooperation with Fullaccess, which has existed since 2017 to improve inclusion. The measures include wheelchair-friendly platforms and a buddy system for accompaniment that facilitate participation for people with special needs. In addition, the concert is accompanied by the sign language performer Pam Eden to ensure barrier -free communication. The MIZ page, which addresses the challenges and progress in barrier -free events, also illuminates this approach.

a festival with social responsibility
The Danube Island Festival not only stands for entertainment, but also for social cohesion and respectful handling of visitors. A sea of lights will be lit on Friday, June 20, at 9:58 p.m. as a sign of solidarity with Graz. In this context, the commitment to an inclusive society is also visible, because the focus on accessibility is supported by regular projects and initiatives such as the "Celebrate barrier -free" concept. These show that access to festivals should be guaranteed for everyone.
Visitors can look forward to a wide supporting program, including yoga and HIIT workouts, workshops for sustainability and diverse children's activities. The full program and other details can be found on the website of the Danube Island Festival: www.donauinselfest.at/programm .
The Danube Island Festival has taken on the challenge of promoting accessibility and designing an event that is accessible to everyone, a task that remains complex for many festival organizers. The industry is increasingly aware of responsibility to offer people with disabilities of equal access, and thus contributes to creating an inclusive festival landscape.
