Bundes army trains in Klagenfurt: Night flights provide aircraft noise!
Klagenfurt, Österreich - On July 21, 2025, the Austrian Armed Forces in Klagenfurt conducts a significant parachutist training and further education. Soldiers from all over Austria take part in this exercise, including the airland hunter battalion 25 of the 7th Jägerbrigade/hunting fight. The aim of the training is to preserve the military suitability of the troop. The exercise should last until July 25th and contain both day and night flights.
Especially for the jumps, American “Multi Mission” parachute systems are used that offer a variety of possible uses. This includes tandem jumps and the transport of service dogs and necessary equipment. During the training period, aircraft starts and landings are planned at the Klagenfurt Airport, where the machines are also stationed. This includes the use of a C-130 "Hercules" and two PC-6 "Pilatus Porter".
planned night flights and noise pollution
The night flights are planned for data 22nd and 24th July 2025. During this time, the Federal Armed Forces asks the population for understanding for the resulting aircraft noise, which is to be expected throughout the entire training period. The Klagenfurt Airport will therefore be an important location for the military exercises of the soldiers.
The Armed Forces ensure that the soldiers are well prepared for their missions. With the combination of skydiving and the use of modern technology, Austria's military shows the adaptability and operational readiness of its troops. Further information on the 7th Jägerbrigade/Jagdkampf and the Luftlanden Battalion 25 and the C-130 "Hercules" are available on the Federal Army website.
