ams-Osram: Turnaround in sight despite loss of millions!
The Styrian-Bavarian chip and sensor maker ams-Osram recorded a negative net result of 785 million euros in 2024, a significant improvement from the loss of 1.613 billion euros in 2023. Although the company achieved an adjusted EBITDA of 575 million euros and sales of 3.428 billion euros, these figures are each down 5 percent sunk. Net debt also rose by eight percent to 1.413 billion euros, while operating cash flow fell by 12 percent to 435 million euros. Nevertheless, ams-Osram recorded an increase in sales in the fourth quarter of 2024 compared to forecast and explained that the focus on the core semiconductor business is showing positive effects, such as oe24 reports.
Nordex increases earnings and adjusts forecast
In contrast, the Nordex Group reported a remarkable improvement in earnings for the first half of 2024: sales rose by 25 percent to 3.4 billion euros compared to the previous year. EBITDA was increased to 118 million euros, with an EBITDA margin of 3.4 percent. Due to this stable financial development, the forecasts have been revised upwards, so that an EBITDA margin of 3.0 to 4.0 percent is now expected for the full year. Nordex achieved positive free cash flow of 94 million euros in the second quarter of 2024 and recorded a significant increase in order intake of 27 percent, driven by a stronger order book, as Nordex Online reports.
The figures from both companies show different developments in the semiconductor and wind power industries. While ams-Osram makes progress, the Nordex Group shows strong operational performance and stable growth expectations.
