Deadly attacks in the Gaza Strip: aid distributed despite chaos!

The situation in the Gaza Strip has deteriorated again after numerous people died in another incident near a humanitarian aid distribution point. According to Palestinian sources, more than 28 people were killed by Israeli gunfire, while 10 more people fell victim to Israeli attacks in Khan Younis. This violence occurred on June 11, 2025, the same day that the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) reported a successful aid distribution.

The Israeli army initially did not comment on the incidents, but said it fired warning shots at “suspicious” people to keep them at a distance. The previous Tuesday, June 10, 17 people died at a GHF aid station in Rafah, further exacerbating an already tense situation. Despite these incidents, the GHF stated that the distribution of relief supplies on Wednesday took place without incident.

Humanitarian aid and security issues

The GHF has begun distributing humanitarian aid to the Palestinian population in recent weeks. To date, the organization has served approximately 16 million meals to those in need. The aid supplies enter the Gaza project via the Kerem Shalom border crossing, with more than 100 trucks carrying food and other goods from the United Nations and the international community's supplies entering the Gaza Strip.

The GHF is particularly sensitive to the safety of deliveries. For the first time, the foundation distributed directly to Palestinians by carrying out these measures outside the regular distribution centers in order to ease the burden on them. Around 20 trucks were used for this delivery, with Palestinian helpers actively involved. Nevertheless, there are repeated reports of gunfire near the GHF distribution centers, causing uncertainty and chaos. Five more deaths are reported near two such centers, while Israel describes these incidents as warning shots.

Criticism of the distribution

However, the GHF is not without controversy. Critics warn that humanitarian aid could benefit Hamas. To prevent this appropriation, the GHF was established as an alternative distribution structure. Additionally, the majority of GHF distribution centers are located in areas where media cannot access, making it difficult to verify casualty and shooting information. The Israeli army has repeatedly emphasized that no civilians should be hit in any attacks, but this is repeatedly called into question by reports of civilian deaths.

In this tense situation, Hamas' military commander, Mohammed al-Sinwar, was also identified. His body was found in a tunnel under the European Hospital in Khan Younis. Al-Sinwar was killed on May 13 during an Israeli airstrike, further escalating tensions in the Gaza conflict.

The ongoing tensions between Israel and Hamas are triggering many international reactions. That's what he reported daily news of the devastating impact of the conflict on the civilian population in the Gaza Strip, which is now home to over 2.3 million people. The chronic conflicts between Israel and the Palestinians have a long history, dating back to the early 2000s, as in Daily Mirror explained.

The current situation highlights the urgent need for humanitarian assistance in a region marked by conflict and violence. According to the UN, at least 500 to 600 truckloads a day would be needed to meet the increased demand, further complicating the challenge for humanitarian organizations.
