Adventure motorcycle tour: Haunetal couple published travel book by Africa!
In the middle of the challenges of Corona pandemic, Joana and Joshua Steinberg from Wetzlos, a district of Haunetal, dared to adventure their life: a motorcycle tour through Africa and Asia. Her courage to travel despite global restrictions is now captured in her new book "Heart Paths - A Journey through Africa and Asia", which is now available in stores, among other things in the home love of Hünfeld.
However, the journey of the two did not even start with the outbreak of pandemic. In 2013, Joshua Steinberg discovered the west coast of Africa with an old motorcycle and under the motto "My own way". At the age of 23, he covered an impressive 33,000 kilometers in 21 countries. Two years later, in 2016, he found the perfect partner for his adventure in Joana, and together they explored South America.
An unforgettable travel experience
Joana and Joshua started again in September 2020. Equipped with two inconspicuous enduros, which they themselves described as "small", they went on a journey that was shaped by unexpected challenges. Overnight stays in the tent and cooking on the open fire were part of everyday life, while they experienced the warmth of the people in the stripped countries. "The warmth runs like a thread through this adventurous motorcycle trip," said the authors in their book, which includes impressive pictures and captivating stories.
The descriptions in “heart paths” take readers on an emotional journey through challenging times. In addition to the restriction by Covid-19, the two also found that they were faced with problems of the stagnating economy in Ethiopia. So there was often no gasoline for the motorcycles and the drinking water supply was a constant challenge.
The focus on people
A central element of the book is the encounters with people of different origins. These personal encounters enable readers to better understand the cultures and ways of life, far from one -sided reporting by the media and politicians. Claudio Gnypek, a friendly travel podcaster, emphasizes in the afterword how important it is that people meet at eye level.
In their book, Joana and Joshua emphasize that the travel experiences should not only be measured by the number of kilometers or countries who have been traveled, but that it is above all the stories that are said that are remembered. Your experiences begin in Cape Town and take you to Mozambique and Zimbabwe to the return to your home country, where you end your trip with many new perspectives and insights.
Numerous exciting stories and experiences from your trip are now part of the book that is not only available in bookstores, but can also be ordered via the authors' website. Joana and Joshua Steinberg show that you can discover the world with courage and openness even in difficult times, and invite everyone to understand their experiences.
The book "Heart Paths" is not only a collection of adventures, but also a ray of hope that illuminates the way for future travelers by showing what it means to discover new cultures and not be broken by political or pandemic circumstances.
