Selenskyj: North Korean soldiers captured in Kiev!
The Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj has announced that other North Korean prisoners of war are expected in the Kursk region. He announced this via the platform X and found that the Russian army was dependent on military support from North Korea. Selenskyj criticized Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin, who is said to have tried to rewrite the story.
In a video address, Selenskyj published a video of two wounded alleged North Korean prisoners who are interviewed during their arrest.
Selenskyj emphasized that Kiev was willing to hand over the North Korean prisoners to Kim Jong Un, provided that he takes care of the release of Ukrainian prisoners of war from Russian captivity. In addition, alternative options are available for the North Korean soldiers if they did not want to return to their home country. It is estimated that North Korea sent around 12,000 soldiers to Russia who are fighting in the Kursk region, with these soldiers being equipped with Russian uniforms and weapons.

In another report by ZDF, it stated that Selenskyj specifically spoke of the capture of two North Korean soldiers in the Russian Oblast Kursk. These were injured and were brought to Kyiv, where they receive medical help. In his video speech, Selenskyj also mentioned that the press had access to the prisoners and that they could communicate with the Ukrainian domestic secret service SBU.
A US government agent confirmed that North Korean units in the Kursk region had suffered high losses. This is the first official message about captured North Korean soldiers who survived.
Before that there were reports on the arrest of seriously injured North Korean soldiers who died shortly afterwards. The Ukrainian military had started a relief attack on the Eastern Front in August, where control over several hundred square kilometers was obtained. According to military circles, numerous North Korean soldiers are said to have fallen in the region, with hundreds of dead and injured.
North Korea is also said to have delivered large amounts of artillery shots to Russia. So far, the Russian authorities have not given a statement on the presence of North Korean troops in Kursk.
Selenskyj further explained that the North Korean soldiers were captured by Ukrainian special forces and paratroopers. A video published by the SBU shows the prisoners, one of whom has suffered a facial wound and the other suffered a break. A doctor reported that one of the soldiers had a Russian military document, but was registered for another person, while the other soldier did not carry any documents.
