GAC opens European spare parts center – new service for customers!
On September 5th, the GAC European Spare Parts Distribution Center was officially inaugurated in Rotterdam, Netherlands. With this opening, GAC takes a significant step towards improving its local services in Europe, as reported by ots.at. The new center acts as a central hub in the company's European logistics and follows the strategic guideline: "In Europe, for Europe, integrate in Europe, serve Europe, contribute to Europe".
The main aim of this initiative is to improve GAC's European customer service system and strengthen the presence of Chinese car brands in the overseas market. At the opening ceremony, Wei Haigang, President of GAC INTERNATIONAL, emphasized expanding the local presence and building an efficient service network covering the mainland European market. The inauguration was celebrated with a ribbon cutting and unveiling of a commemorative plaque, while the first truck of auto parts left the warehouse, symbolizing the “efficient service” it was striving for.
Optimized services and future plans
The new center offers innovative solutions such as transparent inventory management, fast delivery mechanisms and visual logistics dashboards to give dealers quick access to spare parts and reduce pressure on inventory levels. In the future, GAC plans to build local warehouses in several countries to bring service points closer to the market and further optimize the European supply chain and service system.
In addition to the opening of the spare parts distribution center, GAC International has opened its European office in Amsterdam, which acts as a new operating unit for the European business. According to bitauto.com, this office is responsible for market development, brand promotion and sales service of the Chinese brand in Europe. This is seen as a new starting point for GAC's involvement in the European market.
A Guangzhou government official expressed hope that the international expansion of Guangzhou companies such as GAC will help create jobs and generate tax revenue in the region. The importance of the Netherlands as a “Gateway to Europe” could not be overlooked, especially in view of the 10th anniversary of the comprehensive partnership between China and the Netherlands.
The European automotive industry is changing
In the context of these developments, the European automotive industry is currently presenting itself as a sector that is facing major challenges. According to europa.eu, the European Commission recently presented an action plan that was initiated as part of a strategic dialogue. This plan includes investments of €1.8 billion to ensure a competitive supply chain for battery raw materials and aims to address technological changes in the sector.
In addition, a European Alliance for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles will be established to support the development of new vehicles and software. A further 1 billion euros are to be made available through joint public-private investments within the framework of “Horizon Europe” between 2025 and 2027. The action plan is part of the decarbonization strategy and is intended to help meet CO2 emission standards requirements for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles by 2035.
