Energy prices in a descent: Households save up to 500 euros a year!
In November 2024, energy prices for households rise slightly, with an increase of 0.1 percent compared to the previous month. Nevertheless, there are positive news for consumers: According to the Austrian energy agency, the costs for electricity, gas and heating oil have dropped considerably compared to the previous year, sometimes by up to 14.7 percent. A typical household can save up to 500 euros for heating oil, with a consumption of 3,000 liters. The gas price has dropped by almost 30 percent, which particularly benefits households with gas heating. In contrast, the costs for a diesel tank filling rose on average, and you paid around 379.66 euros, which corresponds to around 4.30 euros more than in October. However, compared to the same month of the previous year, in which diesel was considerably more expensive, there are also savings of around 43.27 euros for the same amount. Despite falling prices for some energy sources, the view of energy prices and their development remains crucial in the coming months. The Austrian energy agency warned that long -term energy price development still remains at a high level, which has an impact on inflation.
