A dramatic incident turned out on Saturday evening on Autobahn 12 when the federal police revealed the tried illegal smuggling of four underage refugees. Around 9:40 p.m., the officials noticed a Lithuanian car who was on the highway. The 54-year-old driver, a Lithuanian citizen, wanted to outsmart control with an ID card.

But the story quickly became turbulent! Four Somali young people between the ages of 16 and 17 sat in the vehicle, completely without entry and residence documents. In a desperate attempt to hide from the officials, they tried to cover themselves with jackets and make themselves small. However, the federal police were not fooled and immediately took the presumably smuggled migrants into custody.

Intended and investigation

The investigation is already in full swing: the authority has initiated procedures for unauthorized entry and stay against the young people. There is also a violent investigation against the driver, because he is suspected of having acted as a smuggler. After completing all measures, the young people were handed over to the responsible youth welfare office, while the 54-year-old was released for the time being.

A clear indication that the responsible authorities continuously act against cross -border crime and do not take illegal slushing lightly!
