Salzburg's income: Green demand use for urgently needed projects!
In the state of Salzburg there are currently violent discussions about the use of ASFINAG's toll money. These income, which was two million euros in the previous year alone, are the focus of the Greens who criticize that no money is planned for significant investments. Simon Heilig-Hofbauer from the Greens finds that the funds can only be used for environmental measures along the Tauernautobahn (A10), which he considers too tight. He demands a broader use of these funds in order to finance other projects such as the expansion of bike paths and improved traffic safety. "There is a wealth of measures that would be legally possible. They were just not done," explains Heilig-Hofbauer. This problem could result in deeper cuts into the region's transport infrastructure, since so far only a small cycle path in Zederhaus is planned with 200,000 euros, as reports.
election campaign and tax plans
In the run -up to the Bundestag election, all parties build pressure by promising tax relief for citizens. But the current situation is complex: Germany has too few tax revenue to cover the ailing infrastructure and other urgent expenses. FOCUS Online emphasizes that each of the parties designs their proposals differently to relieve taxpayers. In particular, the SPD and the Greens emphasize the need to relieve low earners, while CDU/CSU, FDP and AfD put high earners in the foreground. "The approach to relieve taxpayers is correct and overdue," says IW tax expert Tobias Hentze and thus highlights the differentiated approaches that are represented in the election programs of the parties. Nevertheless, he warns that many of the proposed measures could not be feasible, which should lead to tensions in the coalition negotiations, such as FOCUS.de
