Ringo Starr thrilled: Barry Keoghan as Beatles drummer in the film!
Irish actor Barry Keoghan (32) could take on the role of iconic drummer Ringo Starr (84) in an exciting new film project about the legendary Beatles! Starr himself expressed excitement about the possibility of seeing Keoghan on screen. In an interview with "Entertainment Tonight" he described the actor as "great" and added with a wink that Keoghan is currently taking drum lessons - but hopefully not too many!
An epic Beatles project
Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes (59), known for masterpieces such as “American Beauty” and “1917”, is planning an impressive film adaptation of the Beatles story in four parts. Sony Pictures Entertainment and Mendes' own production company, Neal Street Productions, announced the project back in February. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, as well as the families of the late band members John Lennon and George Harrison, have granted rights to the Beatles' life story and music. The highly anticipated theatrical release is scheduled for 2027!
Although the official cast has not yet been announced, names such as Paul Mescal, Harris Dickinson, Charlie Rowe and Joseph Quinn are already being rumored in the film industry for the lead roles. Mendes plans to tell the story from each member's perspective and take viewers into the world of 1960s Beatlemania, which revolutionized the music world with hits like "Let It Be," "Help" and "Yesterday." The band's breakup in 1970 marked the end of an era, but this film project reignites the fascination with The Beatles!
