Before the exciting World Cup final in Sun Valley, which will take place from March 22nd to 27th, the first winless season since 1986/87, a historical low point for the Ski World Association (ÖSV). Slowering, if the athletes around Vincent Kriechmayr and Co. don't tear anything in the remaining races, a negative record of 44 World Cup races is set up without victory, leased by the Austrian departures who did not even reach the podium throughout the season. new man in ÖSV
The problems in skiing also put the coaching staff to the test. Sepp Brunner, the long-time Speed head coach, will change the pages and space for an old known rooms: Andreas Evers, who recently led the German departure team, could soon take responsibility for the ÖSV mannings. Sources report that only a few contract details have to be clarified, and Evers himself did not let himself be expressed on his possible return, but did not deny anything. Brunner leaves a sobering balance that, among other things, raises the question: Who can save the team now? As a trainer of ski -ending Hermann Maier and from his previous engagements in the USA and Switzerland, Evers brings a lot of experience.
The opposite stands Romed Baumann, who is the first ski racer of the post -war medals for two nations - Austria and Germany. At the age of 35, he impressively demonstrates how important tactics and skill are in skiing. In view of the current situation, these successes could build up a new pressure among the ÖSV men, which does not allow those responsible to simply continue. The pressure on the new trainer and the entire team is increasing, and the upcoming races could be crucial for the future of Austrian ski racing, such as OE24 and KRONE report.
