A touch of Sweden blows through Lübeck! The enchanting Queen of Lights Lucia from Visby will visit the Hanseatic city on St. Nicholas Day, December 6th and 7th, 2024, and ring in the Christmas season with her radiant entourage. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the town twinning between Visby and Lübeck, their stay will be extended this year, and the anticipation is huge!

“The Lucia tradition is an integral part of Swedish culture, just like Midsummer and the Crab Festival,” enthuses Mayor Henning Schumann. “We are thrilled that the Queen of Lights has taken the long journey to enrich our Christmas city!” Mayor Jan Lindenau adds: “With every appearance she brings the people of Lübeck and guests closer to Swedish tradition and ensures unforgettable moments in the festive atmosphere.”
