Carinthia in stock sports fever: Champions League starts in Klagenfurt!
From September 26 to 28, 2025, the Champions League will take place in Stockport in Klagenfurt. This is the second discontinuation of this important tournament in Carinthia, and the most modern stick sports facility in Austria offers the ideal backdrop for this. Click Carinthia reports that the ice and stock sports regional association of Carinthia plays an important role in scene with over 11,000 active athletes.
The event attracts 12 women's and 16 men's teams from all over Europe, including two Carinthian teams in the men's category: the EV Rottendorf/Seiwald, which was able to achieve the state title in 2024, and the EK Deurotherm Feldkirchen, which can take a wild card. In the women's category, four Austrian teams are fighting for the title: The defending champion ESV Union Vornholz, SU Stocksport St. Peter/Wimberg, ESV Neustift-InnerMezing and SG Pottschach/Neunkirchen. Stockport Carinthia adds that teams from Germany, Switzerland, Slovenia, Italy, the Czech Republic and Lithuania also fight for the title.
Admission prices and registrations
The admission prices for the three-day event are set to 15 euros, while VIP passes for 50 euros can be purchased in one day and 70 euros for both days. The pre -sale started on September 1, 2025 and ended on September 22nd. The groups had previously been drawn in Germany at the end of August.
In the men's category, defending champions such as ESV Union Wang and ESV SP Stahlbau Pongratz Kowald Voitsberg also compete. The teams will do everything possible to secure the coveted title of the International Federation of Ice Stock Sport. The two experienced players Andreas Spendier and Andreas Schurian act as ambassadors for the Champions League.
Successes and developments in the Carinthian Stock Sports
Carinthia is not only active in the Champions League. On August 31, 2025, the state championship of the seniors (Ü50) took place in Klagenfurt, with the participants from the region the first three ranks. ESBVK reports on the main ranks:
