IAA 2025: Overview of the latest electric cars and innovations!
The international automotive exhibition (IAA Mobility) in Munich 9th to September 14th, 2025 takes place, promises to become the largest and most varied car show since 2023. Over 55% of the exhibitors come from the international environment, which underlines global trends and innovations in the vehicle sector. Test drives are possible on more than 230 vehicles, including electric cars, e-bikes and electrified motorcycles.
This year the electric cars dominate the innovations at the fair, but burners and hybrids are also presented. German manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, VW, Audi, BMW and Opel show their latest technologies. Particular attention is paid to the innovative strength of the industry, which has grown strongly in recent years and is setting new standards.
New models and technologies
Volkswagen in particular provides the models ID. Cross, id. Polo, Id. Polo GTI and the second generation of the T-Roc. The id. Cross, an everyday vehicle, offers a trunk of 450 liters and a range of up to 420 km. All model variants of the ID. Polo are fully electric and start price at 25,000 euros. The T-Roc becomes more modern, longer and receives both mild hybrid and full hybrid drives while diesel is abolished.
The BMW Newity, the IX3, is the first series model of the "new class" and convinces with its WLTP range of up to 805 km and a new high-voltage battery with 108.7 kWh. Mercedes-Benz also shows progress with the GLC EQ, a fully electric model with a possible range of up to 713 km and a spacious trunk of 570 liters, whose market launch is planned for 2026.
Audi presents the fully electric sports car Concept C and the Q3 Sportback E-Hybrid, while ŠKODA with the fully electric city crossover epiq and at Hyundai with the concept vehicle "Three" sets new standards in the area of electric vehicles.
Market developments and future visions
The Trend Index 2025 It suggests that personal mobility in the countries surveyed, including Germany and China, is still of central importance. The vast majority of respondents see electrical drive systems than the most appealing future technology. Hydrogen technology follows as the second most popular option.
In addition, a survey shows that confidence in the automotive industry is high and that it is regarded as a driver of innovation and economic prosperity. Signs of high acceptance for autonomous driving and the willingness to use anonymized data are particularly recorded in China.
