Huawei explains the change: Successful together in the digital era!
The future of the digital economy is becoming increasingly intelligent, and at Huawei GITEX 2024 in Dubai, Li Peng, Senior Vice President and President of ICT Sales & Service at Huawei, impressively demonstrated how companies are actively shaping this change. In his speech titled “Successful Together in the Smart Age,” he emphasized that the digital economy is quickly becoming the main pillar of global economic growth.
Li Peng explained that companies around the world are working hard to develop their competencies to succeed in this new era of digitalization. Industry in particular is confronted with new challenges and is striving for a deeper integration of digital technologies. Manufacturers have significantly expanded their ability to collect data through full connectivity and the use of Internet of Things (IoT) platforms, enabling real-time intelligence.
Transformation through artificial intelligence
Another central point in PENG's speech was the role of artificial intelligence (AI). More and more companies are using AI to increase productivity and reduce costs. The use of AI in banks is particularly interesting, as they are able to create complex user profiles within seconds. This allows them to optimize their marketing strategies and speed up lending, resulting in an improved customer experience.
Looking to the future, Li Peng made it clear that the path to the digital and intelligent future is clear. Nevertheless, implementing this transformation is a challenge for many companies as they are in different phases. Huawei has made it its mission to support these companies on their journey. By collaborating with partners in strategic sectors such as government, finance and manufacturing, Huawei aims to provide tailored solutions that meet their specific needs.
Huawei's innovation strategy, also known as the all-intelligence strategy, focuses on an integrative approach that promotes openness and flexibility. Last year, a reference architecture for the intelligent transformation of industries was presented and has already seen some success. Huawei has developed numerous industry-specific solutions and published over 100 case studies to support companies during their transformation.
A notable example of the success of this strategy can be found in Ivory Coast, where Huawei helped the Ministry of Transport build a traffic analysis platform. This platform has reduced road safety risks and significantly improved traffic flow. Additionally, Huawei's One Cloud, One Network solution has helped improve government services and increased efficiency in 33 countries in the Middle East and Africa.
Promoting partnerships and talent
Li Peng also highlighted the importance of the partnerships Huawei is forging. With over 47,000 partners worldwide, the company strives to create a healthy and openly mutually beneficial partner ecosystem. These partnerships are seeing over 18% growth this year alone. In order to promote the innovative strength of local partners, Huawei has set up 14 OpenLabs in which solutions are developed together.
There is also a particular focus on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Huawei offers these companies tailored, lightweight solutions that make it easier for them to access digital and intelligent technologies. One example is the collaboration between Huawei and BCX to develop a cloud management platform that gives many SMEs the opportunity to significantly reduce their operating costs.
Training talent is another important aspect of Huawei's commitment. In collaboration with universities, the company has founded ICT academies that have already trained thousands of engineers and developers in different countries. For example, over 36,000 ICT engineers have received ICT training in Egypt and over 32,000 students in Saudi Arabia.
With this comprehensive approach, Huawei is well positioned to support companies in their digital transformation. Li Peng concluded his address by calling for digital and intelligent transformation to be a win-win for everyone, and emphasized that Huawei is ready to forge more partnerships to achieve more together in this exciting new era.
