Scandalous decision! The Hessian state government plans to sacrifice the state's civil servants again. In a shocking step that can only be described as unconstitutional, Finance Minister Lorz and Interior Minister Poseck want to save an incredible 180 million euros on civil servants in the 2025 budget! This announcement came today during a meeting with the DPolG and other union representatives. The plans include postponing salary increases that have already been decided - a real affront to those who protect our country in action!
The officials affected, especially the police, are faced with ever greater challenges and must constantly adapt to changing security situations. The DPolG state chairman Björn Werminghaus summed up the angry message: "Appreciation and respect? Not in Hesse, where bureaucratic hurdles are constantly being put in our way!" The originally planned salary increase of 5.5% in August 2025 will now only be paid in December of this year - a pure deception!
Unsustainable conditions for civil servants
Although the civil servants receive unconstitutional alimony, the diets of the state parliament members remain unaffected. These will be adjusted automatically while hard-working officers wait for their raise. The government announced that an amendment law would follow next year, but discontent among officials is growing every day. “Anyone who saves at the wrong end usually gets paid,” warns Werminghaus, summing up the emerging front against these untenable conditions. Hessian civil servants finally deserve the recognition and remuneration they are entitled to!
