Duisburg.Heating costs are exploding! In 2023, heating costs in Germany rose by a shocking 24.9 percent compared to the previous year. A current study by Mineko, a platform for checking utility bills, shows that Duisburg is also affected by this increase, albeit slightly below the national average.

In Duisburg, tenants now pay an average of 17.79 euros per square meter per year, which corresponds to an increase of 23.8 percent. In the previous year this value was 14.37 euros per square meter. This means that monthly heating costs per square meter have risen from 1.20 euros to 1.48 euros - a significant blow to citizens' wallets!
