Heidenau, Pirna and Sebnitz: won prizes in the city competition!

Heidenau.An exciting result in the “Ab in die Mitte” city competition! Pirna, Heidenau and Sebnitz have secured the coveted prizes and can look forward to hefty prize money. Even if they are not among the first three winners, the municipalities can look forward to 15,000 euros for Pirna and 10,000 euros each for Heidenau and Sebnitz. A reason to celebrate!

Particularly outstanding is the special prize that Pirna received for the innovative “Gartenstrasse Promenade” project. This project, part of the City Outlet concept, is funded with 15,000 euros and shows how creatively the city approaches the development of its retail trade. Sebnitz can also celebrate: their concept “StadtPlatzLiebe: A meeting place for everyone” is supported with prize money, while Heidenau receives the funds for the “Herb meadow – experience city nature in every season”. These projects promise a breath of fresh air and new meeting places!

1st prize and 60,000 euros for chub

The big winner of the 2024 competition is Döbeln, which convinced the jury with a fantastic idea for the “Boot parade for a parade boot – a giant turns 100” and secured 60,000 euros. The winners were ceremoniously honored in Leipzig on Friday, and interest in the competition is constantly growing. This year, 42 Saxon municipalities took part with 46 projects. The prize money was tripled to 300,000 euros three years ago, which led to a real rush of applications!
